Boot Exchange Launched

New boots are the bain and expense of every parent! Kids feet grow at a rapid rate, and some children may go through 2 or three pairs in one season alone. As a result, most families have numerous pairs of old boots, taking up space in wardrobes, garages, cupboards etc. many of which, with a good clean are nearly new! This year the under 12s will try to help both issues by launching our "Boot Exchange" All proceeds of which will go directly back into the club, and help all age groups - what could be better......? The idea is simple. Every Saturday at training we will collect pairs of old boots, which we will hope to find a new home for. We will clean them up (although it will really help if you can do this before you bring them!) sort them into sizes, and then sell them on. For a pair of boots, we will ask that a minimum donation of £5 is made (please don't be afraid to give more). Knowing that many of the pairs will be nearly new, it is a significant saving to the hundreds we give to sports direct - and this is coming back into the club ! In return, for each pair of boots that you donate, you will receive a token which can be used against the purchase of another pair. In general this will be £1, although we may feel that the quality of the boots donated, deserves more. So, if you have four or five pairs of boots to donate, you could easily pick up a new pair for nothing! Please bear in mind that we cannot recycle any old pair. We can't take boots that are really worn, ripped or in poor condition, and would appreciate those with a full set of studs. So, route around, and see what you have at home, and the under 12s will be delighted to take them off your hands. In particular younger ages - don't rush out and spend a fortune on new boots. They cause blisters, and kids fall in and out of love with the game, so it is never money well spent. For older ages, where kids are playing four and five times a week, it never hurts to have one or two spare pairs. Please bring, browse and buy. After all, you are saving yourself time and money, and giving back to the club. The under 12s train between 10 and 11.30am, on the pitches closest to the car parking.
